Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with a Bioscan?

The best way to get started with scheduling is by calling 920.390.4462 (option 3 to schedule) or emailing Schedule@pinehillfarm.co (.co not .com).  Our Scheduling team will walk you through the steps to get onboarded and scheduled.

What if I don't live near Watertown, Wisconsin? Do you offer virtual practice?

Yes, almost all of our health services can be offered in-person in Watertown, or virtually. In fact, we already have clients all over the world!

What do you do with my DNA after you scan it?

We take the privacy and security of your individual DNA samples—including hair, skin, and nail samples—very seriously. Your samples are never placed in a public dumpster or disposed of with ordinary waste. To protect your privacy, all DNA-containing samples are securely disposed of through incineration.

Can Origin Holistic Clinic replace my primary care provider?

We believe the best approach is to have both. At Origin Holistic Clinic, our focus is on looking deeper into your health and helping identify the root causes and contributing factors behind how you feel—not simply managing symptoms.

We take a functional and holistic approach to areas such as nutrition, hormones, gut health, genetics, lifestyle, wellness, and other factors that can influence your overall health.

Your primary care provider plays an important role in conventional medical care, including routine physicals, preventive screenings, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, medications, and referrals when needed.

We don't believe you have to choose one or the other. In many cases, working with your primary care provider while also partnering with a functional/holistic practitioner can provide a more comprehensive approach to your health.

Do you follow HIPAA privacy guidelines?

Yes. Protecting your privacy and personal health information is a priority at Origin Holistic Clinic. We follow HIPAA and take confidentiality seriously—from how your information is collected and stored to how it is communicated and shared. All provider-patient communication is handled through our HIPAA compliant patient portal called Practice Better.

Do you take insurance for payment?

Origin Holistic Clinic is a cash-pay practice, meaning we do not bill health insurance directly for our holistic and functional health services. For your convenience, we accept HSA and FSA payments for eligible services.

For some of our more comprehensive programs and services, we offer flexible payment plan options to help make care more accessible.

Do you have any discounts for supplements?

Yes, we offer a few ways to save. You can shop our online Fullscript dispensary to save on thousands of brands of healthcare's best supplements. When you shop our dispensary, you always receive 15% off and free shipping (over $50), and your first order is 25% off!  Sign up here: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/phf/store-start

Another option is in store. When you shop in one of our wellness-retail locations, you can sign up for loyalty and rewards points which earn you extra discounts every time you shop with us!

Do you work with kids?

Absolutely!❤️ Our team of practitioners works with children of all ages, supporting a wide range of symptoms, health concerns, and diagnoses. As moms ourselves, we understand that caring for your child’s health is one of the most important—and sometimes overwhelming—jobs there is.

Children today are growing up in a toxic world filled with unique environmental, nutritional, and lifestyle challenges. Our goal is to help families better understand what may be contributing to their child’s health concerns and provide supportive, personalized strategies to help them thrive.

What happens if I don't send in my DNA in time for my Results appointment?

Delays happen, especially when we are at the mercy of the shipping carrier. You can either drop off your DNA in person (if you're local), or we'll simply reschedule your Results appointment if we don't receive it in the mail in time.

Who performs the Bioscans?

We have a team of licensed practitioners who are trained in Bioscan assessments, including Naturopaths, RNs, and Holistic Health Practitioners.

Where are the DNA Bioscans performed? Do you mail the DNA out?

Our Bioscans are performed in-house at our Watertown location. Once we receive your scan, it never leaves our facility. Your scan is processed by our trained Bioscan practitioners and remains securely in our care throughout the entire process. Once the scan is completed and no longer needed, DNA is destroyed by incineration as part of our privacy and handling procedures.

Do I need more than one Bioscan?

Not necessarily.  For many people, one Bioscan provides a practitioner with the insight they need to make personalized recommendations. Others may choose to have a follow-up Bioscan to monitor progress and see how their body is responding to recommended protocols and lifestyle changes.

In some cases, continuing your wellness journey may involve a different approach rather than another Bioscan—such as working with your practitioner on specific laboratory testing or participating in one of our virtual wellness programs for education, support, and accountability.

Ultimately, the goal isn't to keep you coming back for more scans. It's to give you the information and support you need to make meaningful, sustainable changes. We want you to reach a point where you have the knowledge and tools you need to confidently continue supporting your own wellness long term.❤️
